AID4GREENEST researcher, Dr. Michael Sluydts from ePotentia, has shared insights on materials research related to the company’s ongoing work on implementing Artificial Intelligence solutions to improve the steel manufacturing industry.

Dr. Sluydts was speaking as part of the Summer School Materiomics: Innovative Materials from Healthcare Across Quantum to Sustainable Technologies programme, organised by the Faculty of Sciences at Hasselt University.

His lecture covered research from the AID4GREENEST project on how AI can help us develop new green steels for turbines and other applications, as well as use cases from our free online course “AI for materials industry”, which you can find here.

The event also included a visit to EnergyVille, a state-of-the-art research facility focusing on renewable energy and intelligent energy systems combining teams from Hasselt University, imec, KU Leuven and VITO.
